{Baby Van}

There are certain moments in our lives that remind us how special and tender life is. Watching my oldest sister Stephanie become a Mom for the first time was one of those moments for me. I’ll never forget seeing her face grimace with pain, her body shaking and tears streaming her beautiful face as she attempted to labor through a natural birth. Or seeing all of that melt away as they placed a perfect baby Van on her chest after hours or labor. A week after he was born, I came back down to visit. I was blessed enough to witness a new little family and a small part of the love they share. It reminds you what it means to be a photographer. To make a photograph. To capture true life, memories, moments, emotion and love in a single photograph. It’s not about the dress-ups or props. It’s about people and capturing their truth. Someone great once said that is what photography is all about… and I believe it. Family truly means joy and you can simply see it on these new parents faces as they adore their new son. Isn’t there just something so special about a new baby?

This family is so full of life, personality, hugs and kisses, good looks and plenty of love! The girls are witty and so much fun and the boys were ready to wrestle at any minute. I love their brilliant minds and eye for adventure, not to mention their great laughs too! I hope they had as much fun as I did that night.

This has been one of the busiest, craziest weeks! I had some of the most fun sessions and was lucky enough to spend time with some amazing people, wonderful parents, beautiful bride & grooms, and the sweetest children:) We are heading on a trip for a few weeks, so I hope everyone will enjoy a tiny sneak peek of their sessions. I love this family! They love to be together, whether its making dinner, going to the park, or just hanging out at home. If there’s one word to describe them, it’s sweet.
They are also huge Steelers fans, and that made for such a fun night! Andrea & Kevin have some serious chemistry too and they really are such wonderful parents.
Had so much FUN- hope you all enjoy a peek into their session!

Watching Bryce and Nicole with their little one brought back so many memories and feelings for me. It seems just like yesterday we were bringing our sweet boy home from the hospital and now he’s on the brink of 6 months of age. Their faces lit up with every cry, peep, squirm, or grunt. Being a new parent is overwhelming of course, but your heart feels a kind of love you’ve never felt before. You’re exhausted but somehow at those 2 a.m. feedings, you can’t help but smile and feel all sorts of emotion at that tiny little thing in your arms, that thing that now completely consumes your every thought! It’s a wonderful thing and an amazing wonder… enjoy a few moments they shared together as a new family!

I am just loving the families I’ve been lucky enough to work with so far this year! This darling fam is no exeption. Brittney & Seth met and fell in love at BYU where they also got their degree’s. Little Shaely came along and life has just been wonderful! Brittney told me that one of the things they most enjoy is being affectionate, especially to their little one… they love to give hugs and kisses, and say, “I love you”! Enjoy a few favorites!

(Family & Seniors: Now is the perfect time to book your family or high school senior session. The weather is beautiful but it won’t last long! Seniors are excited about school and graduation now, and chances are good they’ll be a bit overwhelmed with all the college prep and testing going on in the spring. Don’t wait:)

Kyler & Hillary were high school sweethearts…he was the basketball star and she was a gorgeous (down to earth) cheerleader. They still have some rockin’ chemistry! They are so in love with their little girl Livy and when making plans for this session, it was obvious that they just love being together as a family. I could hang out with Livy for hours and just smile non-stop at her sweet personality and darling laugh. You HAVE to hear this gal’s laugh; it WILL brighten your day! I truly adore this family and love the way these pictures turned out!

It was just under a year ago that we were taking adoption profile pictures for Jon & Tracy, and within a few months of taking them, sweet Oliver was delivered and handed over to his new mommy! When things are meant to be it sure doesn’t take long for them to work out, and these 3 are the definition of a happy family. I hope they love their pictures! I had a great time getting to see the Layne’s again and finally getting to meet baby Ollie! If you can’t tell, Jon & Tracy are pretty in love with their little boy:)
