Today is a bitter-sweet day. For the past 5 years our company has been known as Captured by Mikki, but today marks the beginning of something new and totally exciting! We have changed our company name to Mikki Platt Photography, along with creating & designing a brand new website and blog! I know, it’s totally crazy, but at the same time it was totally necessary. I can’t wait to show you all what we have been vigorously working on for the past 6 months!

I spent a few hours with this wonderful pair today and pretty much grinned like an idiot the entire time! I still can’t get over how sweetly they looked at each other, the way they held hands, the way he takes care of her and the absolute bliss that pours out of them both. I was truly touched by their true adoration for one another and felt honored to be a part of their special day today. Congrats to one of the sweetest couples I have EVER met!

Happy Valentines Day, friends! Enjoy a few pictures of the little man in my life; I sure love him with all my heart! We’ve been out of town for a week, just enjoying family and taking in a few free days before the crazy-busy days approach! I knew from the minute I pulled up to this session, it was going to rock with these two in front of the lens. The winter light was dreamy and with the addition of their chemistry, charm and adoration for one another, it made for the most amazing two hours of January. They met during a snowball fight and have been together ever since. And I, for one, am counting down the days until I’ll be photographing their wedding bliss on March 18th! Enough cheesy shmeezy from me…enjoy!

It’s about time we posted a wedding! And this one falls under the category of beautiful, vintage, timeless, and absolutely fun! Rachel’s wonderful Mom was the brains behind the decor and food of the reception and without a doubt, it looked amazing. I wanted nothing more than to jump in on the big dance-off scene at the reception, but I held back and had a great time watching all of their friends have a ball. James & Rachel are so smitten with each other and every minute they shared together, looked like absolute bliss. I’m really happy for them and they are thrilled to finally be married! Enjoy a few moments of the big celebration!

…he just might LOVE it! Happy Weekend everyone!

P.S. Linc’s chair was seriously the biggest bargain of the year! We looked for hours and didn’t feel like spending $200, so we went to target and left the store having spent $7.87.
P.S.S. I cut my hair and even got some bangs:) I like it, even though I have NO clue how to do it, I needed something fresh and fun. My sister Steph works magic with scissors!

Pretty sure I love these two. Yes. I definitely do. We laughed our heads off for over 2 hours straight! This is only Part I, so you just might wanna check back in a few weeks for Part II:)

They have non-stop fun together, constantly laughing and seem to be the best of friends. I guess that’s what 2 years of dating will do to you:)

Let’s just say it was in the single digits when we finished shooting these bridals. Brian & Taylor were an absolute joy to work with and in my opinion, make such a beautiful couple. Brian took such great care of Taylor everywhere we went and they truly adore eachother and couldn’t keep from grinning non stop and gazing at each other all afternoon! Taylor’s an RN and Brian is a Chemical Engineer…so not only are they good lookin’, but they’ve got brains too! Enjoy a few favorites from their cold, fun and romantic bridal session!
