Welcome...put your feet up and stay a while!

Thanks for coming by our new and improved blog! We hope you have fun browsing around our work. I am based in Pleasant Grove, Utah and love to travel and see new things.  Our business was hatched in sunny St. George, Utah so we are down there quite a bit as well.  We try and post a few times a week so make sure to bookmark the site and come back as often as you feel like. Comments are always rockin' so don't be shy, we would love to hear what you think about our latest sessions.

{Bring it on Rain}

Is anyone else ready for warmer weather?  We are headed to St. George for a wedding and a few sessions, hopefully the weather will be on our side, but if not, we’ll dance in it!  Happy Weekend to everyone!

These are a few more fav’s from the trip to Europe, last summer.

{Jake & Whitney-Wedding Day}

This wedding was one of four that we covered the last week of December. As you can see, we had some beautiful, but cold snow to grace the day. I thought it made for such fun pictures, even though our Bride was about frozen! About a week before the wedding, we found out that Jake and Braydon were mission companions for a while in Buffalo, NY. It makes you realize how small this world is!

Whitney really planned out her day so well. Everything was designed to have a vintage feel and it turned out perfectly. They decided to have a dinner with family and close friends and it sure made for a fun & intimate evening! Jake was totally excited to surprise Whitney with a stretch limo, so he had her wait an extra hour for it to arrive…I think she was surprised, and it was so cute to see him anxiously trying to keep it a secret from her! They now live in Buffalo NY for Jake to finish up Dental school- Best wishes you two!

Venue: Memory House
Caterer: Le Crossiant
Floral: Blooms and Co.
Dress: Fantasy Bridal
Jacket: Made by Whitney’s Mom

{Thank you!}

I just wanted to say Thank you to each of you that posted a comment on my maternity post last week. It meant so much to hear from you and always makes my day to get comments- so thank you for your thoughtfulness and for your support! We can’t wait for our son to arrive, and we’ll be sure to keep you posted as the days near and of course when he makes his debut!

Thanks again!

Mikki

{Maternal Instinct}

Maternity. Something that I never pictured myself being a part of, but something that I knew was unmistakably powerful, meaningful, and just flat out cool. I’ll never forget the day that we found out we were going to be parents. It was something that we had both wanted for a long time, and when it became a reality, I couldn’t stop from sobbing. The fact that it was real, so real, and that it was going to happen to Brade and I, was just so crazy to me. Then I think of the breakdowns I’ve had from time to time, the ones about “I want a boy so bad, but I feel like it’s a girl”…when who really cares what it is? I bet Brade felt like he was in a total mess from time to time. But alas, we are getting closer and closer to our little boy arriving, and I think I’ve managed to keep it together for the most partJ

I’m honored to be a part of bringing this sweet little boy into the world. I have a sneaking suspicion that our lives are about to change in a big way, but that we are going to discover more love and joy, and take more pictures than I ever thought was possible. We are officially on the countdown! 50 days to go.

50 days until my ribs won’t ache.
50 days until my garbage will be filled with tiny diapers.
50 days until Braydon will finally get to have his son to snuggle up on his chest.
50 days until I get to sleep on my right side again.
50 days until my heart will burst with love for my husband and newborn son.

Life certainly has a way of sneaking up on us. I’m excited, anxious, nervous, yet ready, but mostly grateful. Grateful that life doesn’t always go as planned, but that we can pleasantly be surprised along the way and find true joy in the small and simple things on our journey.

These pictures are nothing too special, but we thought I should take at least a few. I’m not one for maternity shots, especially of myself. It was really, really hard for me to be in front of the camera! So go easy when you see these… but thanks to Brade for taking them. I think he did a great job!

P.S. Boy names are way harder than girl names to pick out!

{Bridal Fair Cont…}

This was our second year being part of the St. George bridal fair. It is always a highlight to see the vendors that we work with all year long! These were a few favorite things we spotted that day that were really fun- getting married nowadays is a blast! With all of these vendors to scheme and plan with, you surely can’t go wrong in working with some of the best in the industry to plan the most important day of your life.

First up: Bloomers Flower Shop
Their booth was amazing; themed with black, yellow, white, and charcoal grey, it was stylish, modern, and absolutely eye catching! Kathy and her staff really know how to work their floral magic!

Next was Laura w/ Forevermore Events & Robyn w/ Marvelous Catering, who put together a vintage booth with nature accents. The colors were so fun and the decor was unique; personal touch went into each and every detail to create a beautiful setting that a bride would absolutely fall in love with. (I got to sample one of Robyn’s masterpiece sandwiches and it was divine).

Heidi & Jenny with Icing Cakes by Design created several cakes that were all “to die for”. It amazed me the talent of these gals; every single cake is uniquely designed and flawless. No matter the theme of your wedding, these designers can whip up something “so you”, and something you’ll look back on and gush over for years to come. I heard their cupcakes were a tasty hit too!

Lastly, here are a few of our booth that we put together. I’m pretty sure the pregnant girls shouldn’t be creating booths, but it turned out simple and fun! It was great to see familiar faces of those that we had worked with, along with meeting so many new ones that we’ll hopefully get to work with over the upcoming year. And thanks to the help of my family, we were able to get everything up and put together without stressing too much- I really appreciate them for all of their support!

Bloomers did our floral arrangement and I couldn’t stop smelling it throughout the fair!

{Bridal Fair}

Today is the St. George bridal fair…and there are some awesome things over here! If you’re in the area and are planning a wedding (or just want something fun to do for a few hours, come on over and say hi! (There are yummy treats everywhere p.s.)

Dixie Center
10 a.m.- 6 p.m.

{Judd & Liz Wedding Day}

It’s easy to see how happy this couple was and is together. I don’t think Liz stop smiling once all day long! The weather was freezing and the slight breeze didn’t help our beautiful bride stay warm, but she looked absolutely beautiful and Judd looked quite GQ himself. The reception was packed with wonderful friends and family that danced the night away. That always makes for a really fun evening! We wish them the best in their new life together- Judd just finished up school and football at Dixie State and Liz has been pursuing her Teaching degree and cheering for Judd at his many games. Fun couple, beautiful wedding, awesome memories!!!

{Winter Fog}

Today it’s a bit mysterious outside. I know inside I’m dying for warmer, happier weather to be here, but it sure looks rad outside with the fog/smog. Hope everyone has a great weekend!

{Brody}

I still remember when Brody was a newborn and he had the cutest little bum in his little sweat pants. It’s so crazy to me that in a few days he is going to be 2 years old! He loves Mickey Mouse, Elmo, his cool sunglasses, and he is going to be a big brother in March too! Brody is one of the coolest kids around- he loves to dance and will blow your mind with his skills, he can get you to laugh and is the happiest little man most of the time! I’m glad he’s our little friend- Happy Birthday Brody!!!

{Happy New Year…and it’s the middle of Jan.}

Hello to all of you out there in the blogging world!  Sorry for the lack of posts these days!  We have been a bit busy here with a few big, fun things that we’ll be posting about in the next few weeks.  Some personal, and some business related too!

Well, 2009 is behind us and 2010 lies ahead with endless possibilities.  This past year has been an awesome one, filled with adventures, successes, challenges, and plenty of hard work.  We went to Europe and Hawaii, reached a few goals and set more to improve upon.  We have been blessed with the opportunity to make a living doing something we love, and the ability to share that with others.

This coming year there are so many things that we are looking forward to. It’s already looking to be a year of “firsts” with the birth of our baby boy in March (baby is still nameless at this point) and the closing on our new home in January (before & after pics to come soon)…Wahoo!!

We hope that all of you had a wonderful holiday season and that you enjoyed spending time with those that matter to you the most, and hopefully there weren’t too many of you stuck with the “cousin eddies”).

2010 Weddings:

For all you newly engaged couples out there getting married in 2010, we are SO excited to work with you!  Be sure to email or contact us soon since dates are piling up and disappearing quickly.  We wish you all the best in your planning adventures and can’t wait to work with you in creating and capturing the amazing moments you’ll be having as you embark on this exciting time!

A huge Thank you to all of our clients and vendors that we were blessed to work with over this last year!  Oh how lucky we are to have worked with you!  We look forward to keeping the friendships we’ve made, as well as making many, many more!

Happy New Year!!!
